In a globalized and risky sector, Armor Lux has placed sustainable development at the heart of its strategy and activities. This policy based on social responsibility is reflected by strong commitments towards the company’s stakeholders and compliance with the guidelines of the ISO 26000 standard.

Respect for Human Rights

Within its sphere of influence, Armor Lux respects Human Rights and more specifically:

  • the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948 ;
  • the International Labour Organization’s (I.L.O) Fundamental Conventions;
  • the conventions of the UN on the Rights of the Child and on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women;
  • the ten principles of the United Nations’ Global Compact.

Respect for the health of users

Armor Lux sells products with are compliant with the French and European regulations (including the requirements of the REACH regulation) on the use of chemical products and substances which can have harmful effects on human health. In order to guarantee the safety of its products, the company relies on the Oeko-Tex standard 100 certification, which is the most recognized in the textile industry and on additional tests carried out by accredited laboratories such as the IFTH (Institut Français du Textile et de l’Habillement - French textile and clothing institute).

Protection of the environment

Armor Lux controls and uses its best efforts to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment and more specifically in the following areas:

  • management of chemical products and hazardous materials;
  • management of wastewater and solid waste;
  • management of gaseous releases;
  • waste reduction and recycling;
  • reduction of CO2 discharges related to the supply and transport of products: carbon balance, use of natural fiber from organic farming, optimization of flows and means of transport, company travel and commuting plan…
  • management of end-of-life products and their recycling.

Armor Lux decided to assess its social responsibility policy on the basis of the ISO 26000 standard and of the assessment model created by AFNOR Certification. Armor Lux achieved a score of 638 points out of 1,000 in 2011 (Level 3 - Maturity) and 767 points out of 1000 in 2016 (Level 4 - Exemplary).
