Our commitments
In a globalized and ethically sensitive sector, we pursue an ambitious and consistent CSR policy in relation to the history and values of our company.
For more than twenty years, we have been fully committed to guaranteeing our customers secure manufacturing chains that respect fundamental labor rights, health and the environment.
Our CSR approach is now recognized as exemplary by AFNOR
Certification (Engaged CSR label) and structured on the guidelines of the standards
more demanding: ISO 26000, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
It is one of the pillars of the Group's governance which contributes sustainably to its
performance and sustainability of its activities.
1. Preserve employment and working conditions
In a sector that has lost half of its workforce since 2002, Armor-lux is committed to preserving jobs in Quimper and Troyes. Several training and retraining initiatives have been implemented to protect our industrial know-how in knitting and garment making.
We have also been committed to diversity and inclusion for many years, with a clear determination to promote gender diversity by recognizing the vital role of women within our organization, valuing experienced employees, and encouraging the integration of young people, individuals who are far from the job market, and people with disabilities.
2. ENSURE A RESPONSIBLE SUPPLY CHAIN
The textile and clothing industry is globalized and exposed to competition from low-wage countries. Armor-lux has made respect for Human Rights one of the pillars of its CSR policy. Since 2004, the company has been a signatory of the Global Compact and actively upholds the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact within its sphere of influence.
Armor-lux carefully selects its material suppliers and subcontractors based on extremely strict CSR criteria and assesses the compliance of production sites with the fundamental conventions of the International Labour Organization and the principles of the Global Compact.
3. REDUCING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF OUR ACTIVITIES
Armor-lux is committed to an ISO 14001-certified environmental policy, with the primary goal of limiting the significant impacts of its activities on the environment. As part of our prevention and eco-design plan, we prioritize the use of GOTS-certified organic cotton, Fairtrade/Max Havelaar-certified fair trade cotton, recycled materials, natural fibers such as linen and Tencel® lyocell, as well as innovative synthetics like EcoVero™ and Bemberg™ cupro.
In recent years, we have also significantly reduced our water and energy consumption. To lower our electricity use, we have equipped our production and logistics workshops with LED lighting and installed photovoltaic panels at our Kerdroniou site in Quimper.
Armor-lux is also committed to mitigating the effects of climate change. To reduce our carbon footprint, we use environmentally friendlier materials, optimize the transport of goods and finished products, extend product lifespans, and invest in renewable energy. Additionally, we support carbon sink initiatives by financing the planting and maintenance of 1,000 trees in the Morbihan region.
4. CONTRIBUTING TO THE ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF BRITTANY
Armor-lux is committed to employment and social integration in its region. In recent years, we have also initiated collaborations with other brands such as Les Mini-Mondes, Fil&Fab (a start-up specializing in recycling fishing nets), and Flip Flap (low sensory impact clothing for children on the Autism Spectrum).
Armor-lux is a partner of the Marque Bretagne and Tout Commence en Finistère, two brands dedicated to promoting the attractiveness of the region. We also support major festivals held in Brittany, such as the Festival Interceltique in Lorient, the Bout du Monde in Crozon, the Festival du Chant de Marin in Paimpol, as well as the maritime festivals in Brest and Douarnenez.
The maritime world embodies values that are close to our hearts. We are partners of the Route du Rhum–Destination Guadeloupe, the Hermione–La Fayette association, and we support skipper Jean Le Cam, who completed his fifth Vendée Globe in 2025, setting a historic record.
