History:

The legendary Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe race was created in 1978 by Michel Etevenon. It's the ultimate single-handed transatlantic race with a total distance of 3,542 miles, linking Saint-Malo in Brittany to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe, and bringing together the biggest names in ocean sailing on the same start line.
