History

1938: Bonneterie d’Armor founded in Quimper by a 31 year old Swiss-German entrepreneur who bet on the creation and production of high quality underwear under the Armor Lux brand.

1940: Purchase of the first knitting machine.
1945: Back into business after a lack of raw material during World War II.

1965: Integration of a Dyeing in order to achieve a complete mastering of the garments’ quality.
1970: Design and production of ready-to-wear collections in addition to underwear and Breton sweaters.
1982: Armor Lux is expanding and launches a boutique network.
1993: Bonneterie d’Armor is bought up by two Breton industrialists, Jean-Guy Le Floch and Michel Gueguen, willing to perpetuate the activity of the company in Quimper.

1997: Creation of a new children’s line : Armor
Kids.

2004: Start-up in 2004 of a brand new factory (production and logistics) on the heights of Quimper.

La Poste (French mail company) entrusted Armor Lux the outfit management of its agents.

2005: Without doubt committed to sustainable development, Armor Lux launches a range of products made of fair trade cotton certified by Max Havelaar.
Armor Lux represents today : a 70 year-experience, 640 employees,
3 factories,
a Network of 30 boutiques and the 3 values : quality, tradition and ethics.
